Rationale: The Inverse Square Law is a formula that can be used to determine modification in distance. The beam is attenuated with increased SID.

Answer to Question 2

AP and lateromedial

Rationale: Two views 90 degrees apart are required for trauma. The patient under spinal precautions will be unable to ambulate or roll into necessary positions. AP will be acquired and then a cross-table or horizontal beam approach will be necessary for the lateral. Placement of the grid should be on the medial surface of the patient's leg and the beam directed lateral to medial.
