Adara is in your sixth-grade class. She is friendly and generous with the other children. She rarely gets into arguments, and when she does, she is able to work things out and maintain her friendships. What sort of attachment bond do you think Adara had, and probably continues to have, with her primary caregiver(s)? Justify your answer.

Answer to Question 1

Adara probably had and still has a secure attachment bond with her primary caregiver(s). Thanks to a strong, healthy early attachment, Adara has formed positive expectations for rewarding interpersonal relationships that are able to withstand occasional conflicts and disagreements. In addition, a secure early attachment may have provided her with the self-confidence she needs to reach out to others in a friendly and generous fashion.
