General otorhinolaryngologi sts are commonly called (ENT) surgeons because they treat diseases of the ear (oto), nose (rhino), and throat (laryngo). Other surgeons practice one of the other subspecialties: otology, facial surgery, or head and neck. These specialties have different training.
