Answer to Question 1

ANS: D
Repair of the posterior vaginal wall for rectocele, a herniation of the rectum into the vagina, consists of a triangular excision of redundant vaginal mucosa and separation of the vagina from the rectum.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
A D&C is done for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. It is performed for many reasons such as abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility studies, to relieve dysmenorrhea, remove polyps, remove residual tissue, arrest bleeding after incomplete abortion, and confirm preoperative diagnosis. The cervix is dilated and tissue is scraped with a curette; therefore, it is called a D&C.
