CPR equipment and nurses certified in CPR should be available at the ASC. Nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) are preferred.

Conversation during a local case should be kept to a minimum and appropriate. The awake and alert patient needs to receive physical and emotional comfort throughout the procedure.
