Answer to Question 1

The influence of nature is seen, for example, in genetic influences on skin color, height, certain physical abnormalities (e.g., Down syndrome), appearance of gender-related characteristics, and the specific timing of puberty. The influence of nurture is seen in the effects of good or inadequate nutrition, as well as in the ways in which environmental toxins, illness, or injury might delay or disrupt physical development.
