Free choice means that food should be available at all times. It is important to the ferret because (a) they have very short digestive tracts and transit time and (b) restricting food could result in hypoglycemia.

The family Mustelidae includes ferrets, skunks, weasels, mink, badgers, and otters. (Any three of these are correct.)
