chemical reactions include respiration, digestion, and assimilation.

Nutrient refers to a single class of foods or group of foods of the same general chemical composition
that supports animal life. Nutrition refers to the animal receiving a proper and balanced food and water
ration so that it can grow, maintain its body, reproduce, and supply or produce the things we expect
from it.
