Tuberculosis is a growing problem among homeless individuals because of being in crowded shelters, which are ideal conditions for the spread of respiratory tuberculosis. Alcoholism, drug addiction, HIV infection, and poor nutrition also contribute to the increase in cases of tuberculosis.
