A prisoner who is acutely ill, detoxifying, and alcoholic is placed in a seclusion room to reduce stimulation. Some of the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal include sweating, rapid pulse, sleep disorder, and agitation. Placing the inmate in seclusion will help limit the level of external stimuli that may increase agitation.
