Answer to Question 1

C
Pronounced physical or psychosocial stress may lead to an individual with paranoid personality disorder displaying symptoms of psychosis. Such stresses, the likes of which the client may never have experienced before, may overwhelm him or her. These stresses may exacerbate the paranoid personality disorder to such a level of severity that the person may experience some brief psychosis as a means of the mind to explain what is happening to the client. In many cases, once the true source of the physical or psychosocial stress is explained to the client, the psychotic symptoms diminish or disappear.

Answer to Question 2

B
Major amendments to the Community Mental Health Centers Act in 1975 required that community mental health centers continue to offer five areas of service. Because of the funding cuts, the services that most community mental health centers reluctantly reduce are their preventive efforts directed toward mental health education, focusing resources on the care of people with diagnosed mental illness.
