Answer to Question 1

The designed program should include several of the following features: Increasing parental involvement and communication that stresses abstinence, increasing parental monitoring and supervision, teaching children how to refuse sexual advances, teaching assertiveness and social-problem solving skills, reducing situations of sexual possibility, showing sensitivity to cultural views of sexuality.

Answer to Question 2

Variables that predict early sexual debut are early maturation, substance use, history of sexual abuse, and having friends who view sexual behavior as normative. Variables associated with delayed sexual debut are having educational plans, good plans, high religiosity, family support, parental supervision and communication.
