Answer to Question 1

A
Clozapine has been publicized as having the greatest risk for severe agranulocytosis and severe bone marrow depression. 1 to 2 of persons taking clozapine develop bone marrow suppressions. For this reason, safe use of clozapine requires weekly monitoring of the individual's white blood cell count for the first 6 months of therapy.

Answer to Question 2

A
The common sequence of alcohol withdrawal if left untreated include tremulousness, acute hallucinations and delirium tremens. Tremulousness (the shakes) have their onset 3 to 36 hours after the last dose (drink). Symptoms include tremors, anorexia, insomnia, tachycardia, agitation, increased blood pressure, anxiety, and nausea and vomiting. Acute hallucinations can occur anytime after tremors have begun and symptoms include psychomotor agitation and auditory hallucinations. Delirium tremens (DTs) occur 24 to 72 hours after the last drink. Symptoms of DTs include disorientation, delusions, hallucinations (most often visual but can be tactile), delirium, severe agitation, fever, perspiration, tachycardia, and seizures (either petit mal or grand mal).
