Answer to Question 1

C
Option C is the only option that assesses coping skills. Option A gives unrealistic reassurance, and
option B asks the client to decide on his own treatment at a time when, by his own admission, he
cannot think straight.. Option D is concerned with self-esteem.

Answer to Question 2

D
First-line treatment with atypical antipsychotics such as risperidone, olanzapine, or quetiapine is
recommended in evidence-based pharmacological guidelines. A long-acting form of risperidone is
available and appropriate given the client's propensity for medication nonadherence. The other
options are typical antipsychotics that are less effective in treating secondary symptoms of
schizophrenia.
