Answer to Question 1

A
High-calorie, high-protein food supplements will provide the additional calories needed to offset the
client's extreme hyperactivity. The other indicators are related to other nursing diagnoses that might
be established for a manic client.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B
Pain is increased when the client has muscle tension. Relaxation can diminish the client's
perceptions of the intensity of pain. The other options are modalities useful in treating selected
