Answer to Question 1

1
Clients can participate in some or all aspects of their care.

Answer to Question 2

D
During the immediate posttreatment period, the patient is recovering from general anesthesia, hence the need to reestablish and support physiological stability. This includes monitoring the level of consciousness and bodily functions such as vital signs and elimination. Range of motion is unlikely to be affected by ECT and is not a priority. Assessing memory loss immediately after ECT is inappropriate because the patient may be confused. Patients are not more suggestible as a result of ECT.
