Answer to Question 1

3
Rationale: The humanistic use of self includes helping clients redefine their experiences in more satisfying ways, learn new patterns of coping with stress, and generally enhancing the quality of their lives and social worlds. Focusing on physical functioning is part of, but not the essence of, the therapeutic relationship. Unless educated in psychoanalysis, nurses do not focus on uncovering unconscious experiences. Psychoeducation is part of the nursing role, but not the main focus of the nurseclient therapeutic relationship.

Answer to Question 2

4
Rationale: Clinical eating disorders are more commonly seen among females, with estimates of a malefemale ratio ranging from 1:6 to 1:10. However, screening and prevention programs should be aimed at adolescents and youth of all sexual orientations, ethnicities, and cultural groups as the Western shift toward glamorizing thinness is now being seen cross-culturally and is rising in young males, but is still outnumbered by 1:61:10 for males to females.
