The nurse was visiting the home of a family who care for an 18-year-old son with severe and per-sistent schizophrenia. The parents remarked, We never go anywhere alone and are thinking about taking a weekend trip.

Option 2 places the son's needs before the parents' needs. Option 3 is incorrect because providing care was not mentioned as a problem in the scenario.

ANS: 3
Most severely and persistently mentally ill clients live with their families. The other options list living arrangements for small parts of this group but not for the majority.
