In severe anxiety a person may freeze and problem solving is difficult. A person is relatively re-laxed and comfortable in mild anxiety. A person in moderate anxiety may feel energized and fo-cused. A person at panic level has total loss of control.

Primary control of the physiologic responses to anxiety is by the autonomic nervous system. The other systems are affected by anxiety.
