Answer to Question 1

Ans: A, B, C
It is estimated that one third of persons with OCD experience depression because of OCD's effects on their lifestyle. Bipolar, cyclothymic, panic, mood, eating, and impulse control disorders also commonly occur in those with OCD. A significant number of older depressed persons have OCD. Schizophrenia and psychosis are not comorbidities for OCD.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: C
OCD is diagnosed when recurrent obsessions or compulsions (or both) take up more than 1 hour a day or cause considerable stress to the individual. These obsessions or compulsions are not caused by substance or medication use or other disorders. Some individuals recognize that these obsessions or compulsions are excessive and unrealistic; others have limited insight and are unsure whether the obsessive thoughts are true, but continue to have the thoughts and feel compelled to perform the actions. Another group of individuals are convinced that their
obsessive thoughts are true. These thoughts and compulsive behaviors are stressful and interfere with normal daily routines.
