Answer to Question 1

Ans: D
While improving nutritional status and acknowledging the severity of the illness are important, the first priority would be to establish a trusting relationship with the anorexia nervosa patient. Trust is imperative before establishing a therapeutic relationship.

Answer to Question 2

Ans: D
In bulimia, dental erosion (from frequent vomiting) and chronic edema (from fluid imbalances) are common. Dyspnea, bacterial GI infections, and metabolic acidosis are not characteristics of bulimia.
