Answer to Question 2

Anecdote comes from the Greek for the unpublished details. An anecdote is a story, related to your topic, which makes a point. It can be funny, ironic, or sad. It doesnt have a punch line, but it may have a moral or teach a lesson about life. A joke has a premise and a punch line. It can be a story or play on words. Listeners may or may not find it funny. An antidote is medicine given to counteract the effects of some toxic substance. The antidote to a boring speech is a poignant anecdote.
