a. Make doers the subjects of sentences: By making the grammatical subjects of sentences the action-takers, a writer can avoid using too much passive voice.
b. Use breathing-length sentences: Keep sentences to a length that allows them to be spoken in one breath. This way you can avoid using sentences that are too long to be understood.
c. Eliminate nominalizations: Avoid over-using tion words and other abstract nouns. Often, these nouns can provide actions words that will make the subjects the doer of the verbs.
d. Define Jargon words: Jargon words should be defined for non-expert readers.
