Answer to Question 1

Serif fonts have small tips at the ends of the main strokes of each letter; sans-serif do not. They can be used for contrast. Serif fonts are often seen as more traditional.

Answer to Question 2

a. A graphic should tell a simple story.
b. A graphic should reinforce the written text, not replace it.
c. A graphic should be ethical.
d. A graphic should be labeled and placed on the page.
