  • It is a sonnet (though the Spanish original is more regular in its rime scheme than is the English translation).



Answer to Question 2


  • By his comical rimes, by his knowing use of details and descriptions (Monty Python routines, Black socks with shorts), by the triumphant reversal in the final line, and especially by demonstrating that he can turn an originally dark poem into a funny one: Heaneys poem is funny enough on its own, but much funnier when compared to the original.
