  • The speakers are self-described dorks, geeky high-school intellectuals who are focused on science and technology (and arcane entertainment). They are addressing their tormentors, the jocks and other popular students who beat them up at lunch hour. The joke is that these weirdos will, in just a few years, enjoy the ultimate revenge of the nerdsnot merely consoling themselves with an alternate set of values, such as intellectual pursuits or self-acceptance, but beating the jocks at their own game, achieving greater financial and material success than their former persecutors.
