Answer to Question 1


  • The changes help convey the idea that it is hard, for some men, or some gay men, to find the words to articulate their love. This difficulty is compounded by a literary tradition that does not afford many useful models.

  • Broadly speaking, the entire history of Americas mistreatment of its native people; more specifically, as shown by the references to dams and reactors, the environmental depredations that have followed the forcible removal of these people from their ancestral homelands and the disruption of their respectful, even reverential treatment of the natural world.
