Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

Indoors, many plants do not flower (or offer just a few flowers) because indoor light intensities cannot
support the reproductive phase, which requires high amounts of energy. Most interior plants are
cultivated because their foliage is attractive on its own. Remember, plants that flower need greater
light intensity than plants that are grown for their decorative foliage rather than flowers. Plants that
need higher intensity light are: plants that should be in flower, plants with variegation, and plants
indigenous to bright, sunny locations. Plants that have lower intensity light needs are plants that do not
need to be in flower to look fine, plants with dark green leaves, and plants indigenous to shady
locations.
