Answer to Question 1

They crawl up the dam's abdomen in search of a nipple. Once they find a nipple, they attach and the nipple swells to secure the pup. Several pups will die if they don't find or attach to a nipple.

Approximately 30 days. At that point they will climb up and ride on the dam's back while she searches for food.
