Answer to Question 1

They have marsupial bones (os marsupalia) that form part of the pelvic attachment to the abdominal muscles. STOs have skin around each nipple that forms a cushion or donut around each young to secure the attachment. Embryos are delivered in an undeveloped state to further develop outside the uterus.

The Whitten effect is the synchronization of estrous cycles when a new male is introduced to a colony of females.
