Answer to Question 1

They are solitary and will not tolerate other hamsters. Attempting to keep two sexually mature animals together will result in fighting and the death of one of them.

Answer to Question 2

Inflammation and abrasion of nose and face. This can cause inflammation and secondary bacterial infection. Red Nose can be caused by housing in wire cages or by gerbils continually chewing at bars.
