Answer to Question 1

Chinchillas can be picked up from the cage by the base of the tail. Then place one hand underneath the chinchilla and one hand around the thorax, with one finger encircling the tail.

Answer to Question 2

A chinchilla cage should be made of wire with different levels and platforms, allowing them to jump from one level to the next. There should be a place to hide and a container for chinchilla dust. The cage should be placed in a cool area of the house without direct sunlight.
