Answer to Question 1

Grass (timothy) hay is better. Alfalfa is too high in protein.

Answer to Question 2

A sound produced by rapid chattering of the teeth. It is heard as a warning, with guinea pigs in pain and in boars chasing sows. It is not a purr of contentment.
