Answer to Question 1

An oxygen meter works by sending a charge of electricity from its batteries out to probe in the water. If oxygen is present, the electrical current flows between two cathodes. The higher the oxygen content, the stronger the current.

Answer to Question 2

The three layers of water in a stratified pond include:

1 . Epilimnion - top layer
2 . Thermocline - middle layer
