Answer to Question 1

Texture

Answer to Question 2

With grafting, two parts of a plant are cut into an upper part (scion) and lower part (rootstock). Then the scion is attached to the rootstock such that the cambium layers match. The wounding from the cut causes the production of callus cells, which intermingle and form new cambium cells. The cambium cells then develop into the xylem and phloem, which transport water and nutrients from the roots to other parts of the plant.
