Answer to Question 1

Scientists have inserted genetic material from the Bt bacteria into a variety of crops to create plants that naturally control many insects. The main concern about this practice is that people fear that insects may, in time, become tolerant to the Bt crops and render these genetically engineered plants ineffective in controlling insects.
