Answer to Question 1

Grounding is making an additional connection between a piece of equipment and the earth. This is a
safety feature in case electricity gets out of its circuit.

Answer to Question 2

Fuses are a plug or cartridge containing a strip of metal that melts when more than a specific amount
of current passes through it. A circuit breaker is a switch that trips and breaks the circuit when more
than a specified amount of current passes through it. These are used to protect circuits from damage
and fire.
