Answer to Question 1

The difference is in the delivery of the fuel and the system of igniting. In a gasoline engine, the fuel is
introduced through the intake valve and comes in as a mixture of gasoline and air. In a diesel engine,
only air is brought into the cylinder through the intake valve.



Answer to Question 2

Diesel engines are larger, heavier, noisier, smell bad, and are more expensive to buy.
