Answer to Question 1

Two typical carburetor adjustments on a small engine are idle speed and air-fuel mixture.

Answer to Question 2

The intake stroke starts with the piston moving down. The intake valve opens, and the proper mixture
of air and fuel rushes into the cylinder. Then the intake valve closes. The compression stroke begins at
the bottom of the cylinder with both valves closed. As the piston moves upward, the air-fuel mixture is
compressed. Next, the power stroke begins when the piston is at its highest point. The spark from the
spark plug ignites the compressed air-fuel mixture, driving the piston down. At or near the bottom of
the power stroke, the exhaust valve opens. As the piston moves upward, it pushes out the burned gases.
