1 . Brought through a specific point of entry
2 . Quarantined for 30 days in a USDA animal import facility with the pet owner paying for the cost of boarding the bird
3 . Tested for a series of diseases, with the tests paid for by the pet owner

The two main reasons why a person would want to test a dog's breed background are:

1 . Natural curiosity about a beloved animal
2 . To help understand the dog's veterinary needs, as many genetic diseases or genetic predisposition to diseases are related to breed
