Answer to Question 1

The lowest scoring is pot roast (114).

Answer to Question 2

Rendering insensible means making the animal unable to sense pain. Several methods accomplish this
and comply with the Humane Slaughter Act of 1958. Packers that do not comply with provisions of
this act are unable to sell meat to the federal government. The approved methods must be rapid and
effective. Methods used in rendering insensible include a single blow or gunshot, an electrical current,
or use of carbon dioxide gas.
