Answer to Question 1

The prevention of a disease is nearly always less expensive than treating animals once they have
become infected. A good disease-prevention program should include vaccination of animals.
Vaccination is the injection of an agent, such as a modified disease organism, into an animal to
immunize it against a specific disease.

Answer to Question 2

There are several ways to restrain animals for observation and treatment of diseases and parasites.
These include head gates, squeeze chutes, halters, twitches, nose leads, and casting harnesses.
