ANS:Deficiency
means a shortage of a given nutrient that is available for plant use. A good example of a
nutrient deficiency symptom is blossom-end rot of tomato. This is common in gardens and occurs
when there is not enough water to dissolve and carry calcium to the plant in sufficient quantities. The
end opposite the stem is called the blossom end. The calcium deficiency produces a tomato that looks
good from the top, but, when picked, the bottom end is rotten.
