Lacey Act of 1900made it a federal offense to illegally take wildlife across state lines.
 Migratory Bird Act of 1929established refuges for migratory birds.
 Migratory Bird Hunting Stamp Act of 1934gave a way to get revenues for acquiring lands for migratory birds.
 Lea Act of 1948provides federal land for waterfowl feeding.
 Pittman-Robertson and Dingell-Johnson Act of 1950placed an excise tax on guns, ammunition, and fishing tackle.
 Endangered Species Act of 1966protects the rare and endangered species.
