The five types of harvest cuttings are selective, shelterwood, seed tree, coppice, and clear cutting.

Answer to Question 2

Intermediate cuttings are made before the forest is ready to be completely harvested. These cuttings are management
tools intended to improve the forest and increase production by removing undesirable trees, thinning to
improve sunlight penetration, and decrease the risk of wildfire.
