Answer to Question 1

Wind causes the surface of the soil to dry more rapidly. The dry surface is more susceptible to wind erosion. As
the air moves, it carries soil particles with it.



Answer to Question 2

Water causes erosion in two ways. (1) The impact of falling raindrops loosens surface soil particlessplash erosion.
(2) The more damaging effect is that of running water. As runoff moves across the soil surface, soil particles are
picked up by the water and carried away, only to be deposited elsewhere
