Answer to Question 1

 Advective and radiation freezes.
Advective freezes can be overcome by the proper site selection and through the use
of windbreaks.
Radiation freezes are typically very severe. Plants can be protected by using
overhead sprinklers, covering the crop, or by using heaters.

Answer to Question 2

Fruits typically perform best with a soil pH in the range of 6.0 to 6.5, with 6.5 being
considered optimum.
