Answer to Question 1

The benefits of wind:
Cools the plant, reduces moisture on the plant and soil surfaces, and reduces disease
problems.
Makes the plant shorter with a tougher cuticle, thereby making it more resistant to
mechanical stress, pathogen, or insect attack.
Problems associated with wind:
Plants are shorter and have reduced photosynthesis, resulting in a reduction in crop
yields.
Wind accelerates the senescence process, leading to premature death; excessive
wind can result in physical damage to the plant just from shear force.

Answer to Question 2

Excessive water kills the plant due to reduced oxygen in the roots.

Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.
