Answer to Question 1

Cultivar identification is important to establish ownership. Cultivars can be
distinguished by the flower, fruit, and vegetative parts. In addition, chemical taxonomy
and biochemistry using proteins, anthocyanins, and other chemicals can be used as
fingerprints. Another method is molecular evidence using the Polymerase Chain
Reaction (PCR) for DNA analysis.

Answer to Question 2

 KingdomPlants or animals
Division or PhylumTracheophyta (includes most horticultural plants); other
phylums include Spermatophyta, Pteridophyta, Thallophyta, and Bryophyta
ClassFilicinae (ferns), Gymnosperms (primarily evergreen trees; usually have
naked seeds born in cones), Angiosperms (flowering plants and seeds develop in
fruits)
SubclassDicotyledon ae (Dicot), which has two cotyledons and reticulate leaf
venation (such as a bean plant), Monocotyledonae (Monocot), which has only one
cotyledon and parallel leaf venation (such as corn)
 Order
Familygrouped based on natural plant relationships using structural and cultural
similarities
Genusgrouped based on morphology and genetic, biochemical, and molecular
relationships
Speciesgrouped with even greater refinements than genus but still based on same
relationships as in genus
Cultivarcultivated variety (such as a Delicious apple)

Every flu season is different, and even healthy people can get extremely sick from the flu, as well as spread it to others. The flu season can begin as early as October and last as late as May. Every person over six months of age should get an annual flu vaccine. The vaccine cannot cause you to get influenza, but in some seasons, may not be completely able to prevent you from acquiring influenza due to changes in causative viruses. The viruses in the flu shot are killed—there is no way they can give you the flu. Minor side effects include soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. It is possible to develop a slight fever, and body aches, but these are simply signs that the body is responding to the vaccine and making itself ready to fight off the influenza virus should you come in contact with it.
