Answer to Question 1

 Plants were harmful and should not be eaten because they were poisonous.
 Plants could be used for food, spices, medicinal purposes, construction,
transportation, and communication.

Answer to Question 2

Identify, catalog, overcome language barriers, understand their origins, and
understand the relationships among plants.
